Mark joined the 750MC Locost Championship in 2003 as a racing novice having wanted to compete in motor racing for many years. The Locost Championship is a budget series for cars built to the Ron Champion book 'How To Build A Sportscar For £250 ...... And Race It' using a 1300 X Flow engine and MK11 Escort gearbox and axle. The series is extremely popular way of entering motorsport and also provides a very well supported, challenging and competitive championship for more seasoned racers. Mark has steadily improved both his and the cars performance over 5 seasons, culminating in a sixth place in the 2007 Championship with his best place to date being Mallory in June '07, missing out on a maiden win by 0.14 seconds. The car has been rebuilt over the winter closed season ready for the 2008 series which promises to be an even closer battle than previous years.
