Simon started drifting of sorts when his cousin introduced him to rally driving. After having fun in a few non Japanese RWD cars he eventually found a Nissan S13 and attended one of the first public drift events are Turweston airfield in 2003. He also met Steve Carter for the first time who shrugged him off as another idiot. Eventually Steve and Simon managed to actually form a friendship (with Simon cleaning Steve's kitchen whilst Steve fitted his diff) and they formed Team D:MON.
Amazingly they both started winning events in 2004 and Matt, Steve D and Jason were invited into the fold. Simon then totally rebuilt his car with the help of APT and competed in the 2005 championships coming 13th. During this time he also wrote articles for a popular Japanese car magazine, Banzai, who subsequently sponsored him. Simon then left the UK scene after 2 successful years drifting in his APT Pink S13. He has spent a year in California under a pile of real work and is now just starting to regain a grip, or not, on the drifting scene. He is to start working with Northern Californian based organizers to bring the sport to the top end of the state.
