API CI-4 Diesel Engine Oil

The API CI-4 specification was introduced by American Petroleum Institute to meet 2004 exhaust emission standards. Oils that meet this specification are for high speed diesel / four stroke engines generally of heavy duty use with diesel fuels with sulphur content up to 0.05% by weight. These oils are perfect to be used where Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and other exhaust emission components are in use as these oils are especially effective at sustaining engine durability. Using API CI-4 will protect from component wear, they have low and high temperature stability, soot handling properties, piston deposit control, valve train wear, protect from oxidative thickening, foaming and viscosity loss due to shear. API CI-4 is backward compatible so can also be used where API CH-4, API CG-4 and API CF-4 is recommended.
