Engine oil circulates under pressure to minimise friction between various metal components (e.g. bearings or camshafts) and it also supports the cooling process by dissipating heat from the pistons, cylinders, and turbochargers. During these processes microscopic abrasive particles, dust, soot or burnt fuel residue can contaminate the oil. These contaminants can then get onto the bearing surfaces which results in accelerating wear on the engine.
Oil Filters serve to protect the engine from such contaminants, thus preventing damage and ensuring optimal engine protection.
