Returns Policy

Need to return something?

At Opie Oils, we always want you to be satisfied with your order and pride ourselves on our customer service.
If you wish to return goods, please note our returns policy and follow the directions below.

Important: Returns are accepted subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Cancellation and returns

This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault, e.g. if goods are faulty or mis-described.

Now offering 60 Day Returns

You can cancel your contract before delivery. Consumers in the UK have 14 days for unwanted goods and 30 days for faulty/damaged goods to exercise their right of withdrawal from a distance contract or off premises contract (including internet sales) without the need to justify at no cost (except supplementary costs). To do this, please email, write or phone us.

In addition to your statutory rights, we've extended the period in which we will accept returns to 60 days.

We will refund your money - including the original postage charges you paid us to deliver the item to you - within 14 days. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (replacing the former Distance Selling Regulations).

If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense. You are responsible for the risk of loss or damage when returning items, so you should take out appropriate insurance cover to meet their values.

Faulty or Mis-Described Goods

If there is a problem with the goods please contact us to discuss the matter further.

If the goods are found to be faulty or do not meet the description on our web site, then within a reasonable time after delivery you may reject them and we will refund you in full.

As provided in Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014, a deduction may be made from the amount we refund you if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop.

If a fault is found later on or if you delay in making a complaint you will still be entitled to a replacement. If a replacement is not available, you may be able to claim part or full refund of your money.

Liability

It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the goods are the correct fitment or application. We cannot accept responsibility for additional charges or consequential loss incurred if a product does not fit or does not give the desired results. Our liability is limited to the price paid for the goods only.

Making a Return

Please note, failure to follow the returns procedure may cause delay in your return, exchange or refund.

  • We are happy to accept returned goods in the following circumstances:

    1. When we have sent incorrect goods (i.e. not what you ordered as shown on your order confirmation)
    2. If goods are faulty within 30 days of purchase. If a fault develops after 30 days and before 6 months, please contact us to arrange a repair or replacement.
    3. When the goods supplied do not fit your vehicle and we provided incorrect guidance to you as to which product/s were suitable either through use of tools on our web site or via e-mail / other electronic messaging medium.
    4. You are cancelling the contract of purchase as detailed in Section 5 of our Terms and Conditions (see Terms & Conditions)

  • In any of the above circumstances, we will refund the cost of all monies paid, including the cost of the postage you paid for us to deliver the goods to you.

  • We will additionally arrange collection or refund the cost of return postage to us in circumstances a, b and c above.

  • However, if you are cancelling your contract with us under the Consumer Contracts (formerly Distance Selling) Regulations, you will need to return the goods to us at your expense.

  • In all circumstances, we recommend that you obtain proof of delivery. If the goods are of a value exceeding 100 x the cost of a 1st class Royal Mail letter stamp, you should obtain insurance against loss.

  • Please return any goods with their original packaging. Items that are supplied in sealed bags, with instructions such as or similar to "Non-Returnable if packaging is opened", must not have been opened or tampered with.

  • As provided in Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014, a deduction may be made from the amount we refund you if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop.
