A track rod, also known as a tie rod, consists of an inner and outer rod that connects the steering system to the wheels, allowing you to steer your vehicle effectively. The inner rod attaches to the steering rack and pinion, whilst the outer rod attaches to the steering knuckle - both connected via the track rod ends. It is crucial that the track rods are fully functional and properly aligned in order to steer the vehicle in the correct direction so that you remain in control.
As a general rule, track rods should be replaced in pairs to allow equal wear and you should always choose replacement parts of high quality.
