This generates the necessary friction from the brake linings against the inner surface of the drum, which slows and stops the vehicle.

Brake shoes can be subjected to excess heat generation and this can impact braking performance and security, which results in the brake pedals requiring more force to work efficiently. This is why it's a good idea to replace worn or old brake shoes to maintain high-quality and safe braking performance.
