This brake hose is for a Mazda 3 1.6 1598cc (77KW 105HP Z601;Z627) braking system on the rear axle.
The brake hoses on the Mazda 3 (Generation I & II) and Mazda
5 (Generation I & II) are particularly prone to corrosion due to
their design.
The rear flexible brake hose is prone to corrosion
where it joins the brake pipe. This hose has a rubber protective sleeve
that provides it extra support, but this sleeve also traps moisture and
debris from the road, causing the metal components within to corrode.
This then compromises the connection, leading to a potential failure
occurring when the brakes are applied, especially in an emergency
situation.
Symptoms: The brake warning light in the instrument
cluster stays illuminated when the handbrake is released, and the brake
pedal feels soft. The fluid level in the master cylinder is below the
minimum line, and an external examination under the vehicle reveals a
pool of fluid on the ground by either of the rear wheels.
The
brake systems on the above models should be inspected regularly, and if
any of the hoses are showing signs of corrosion affecting the metal
unions they should be replaced as a matter of urgency.
It's advisable to replace the brake fluid as part of this repair.
A brake hose is a critical part of your vehicle's braking system, with the main function of delivering brake fluid to the brake callipers and wheel cylinders so that your brakes engage sufficiently when slowing or stopping your vehicle. Brake hoses can be manufactured from either rubber or stainless steel and should be flexible so they can cope with the vehicle's suspension movement when turning or driving on uneven roads.
While your brake hose can last many years, it can be susceptible to damage and wear over time, and when this happens it's important to replace them with a precise and high-quality replacement part. Some signs to look out for that indicate a problem with your brake hose is a less-responsive pedal, a leak of hydraulic fluid, cracks, reduced stopping power, or even complete brake failure.
All Blue Print components are developed and manufactured to meet OE specifications to be direct replacements, as well as undergoing rigorous testing and quality checks to keep products to a high standard.
