This Hella Speed / RPM Sensor (6PU 009 145-331) is an electronic device that measures the number of revolutions the engine crankshaft makes per minute. This RPM measurement is used by the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to calculate the current position of the crankshaft, so that engine cylinders can be fired up in the correct order.
