In order for a combustion engine to function optimally, it must operate within a certain temperature window.
A Thermostat, along with a coolant, helps to control this temperature by ensuring that the engine reaches its ideal operating temperature as quickly as possible, whilst continuously maintaining it thereafter. If a thermostat becomes blocked or defective, this can result in the engine overheating.
