The throttle valve inside the throttle body is controlled by the Engine Control Unit (ECU) with a DC motor to control the throttle valve angle. The ECU then receives feedback via a throttle position sensor. These components work together as the electronic throttle control to control the intake air into the inlet manifold and for the exhaust gas re-circulation system. Altogether these components play a crucial role in the reduction of vehicle emissions.
