A CV (constant-velocity) joint lets a driveshaft deliver smooth, constant torque while the shaft is steering and/or moving up and down with the suspension. Unlike a simple U-joint, a CV joint keeps the output speed equal to the input speed even at sharp angles, so you don’t get vibration or shudder.
