A range of polyalkylene synthetic gear oils

The RENOGEAR PG RANGE of industrial gear oils are synthetic products formulated with a polyalkylene glycol base and offer excellent corrosion protection. Outstanding load carrying capacity, thermal stability and demulsification are also provided by the products in the range.

Application:
The RENOGEAR PG RANGE can be used successfully to lubricate items such as calenders, bevel, spiral bevel, helical, spur and worm reduction gearboxes.
Use as a ‘Sealed for life’ grade is possible in certain applications.
RENOGEAR PG oils are not compatible with mineral oils, esters and polyalphaolefins. Do not mix RENOGEAR PG products with this type of fluids. Also when changing from other polyglycol products to RENOGEAR PG, and when mixing different viscosity grades, please check the compatibility.

NOTE: FLUSHING PROCEDURE:
RENOGEAR PG RANGE products are NOT miscible with mineral oil or other glycol based lubricants. When changing from other products the unit should be run to warm the existing fluid, then drained and cleaned of any sludges. Flush with a minimum volume of.
RENOGEAR PG under no load until fluid is warm, then drain, repeat if necessary. Check condition and type of seals and replace if necessary. Fill the gear unit with appropriate RENOGEAR PG fluid and inspect after one or two days to ensure that the lubricant is free from contaminants since contamination with other lubricants can lead to sludge formation, foaming and other general performance reducing problems.

NOTE: MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY:
Seal types of NBR (nitrile rubber), fluoro-silicone or vinyl-methyl polysiloxane (Q) are recommended especially in high temperature applications.
RENOGEAR PG lubricants should not be used with polyurethane based elastomers, leather, cork, asbestos, paper or board.
Ordinary paints will soften in the presence of RENOGEAR PG oils and as such internal surfaces of gear units should not be painted. If painted then a two-pack epoxy type product should be used.

Benefits:

  • The RENOGEAR PG RANGE of gear lubricants are eminently suitable for applications up to 200ºC
  • The thermal stability of the products when used in industrial enclosed gear units offers life exceeding 10,000 hours at 100ºC

Specifications:

  • Meets the requirements of David Brown Type G lubricant.
